Green Album era releases (2000-2001)

title: weezer - christmas e.p. label: geffen/interscope id #: gefcd radio promo only released: november 2000 format: cd songs: 1. the christmas song 2. christmas celebration notes: 2 previously unreleased songs recorded just before weezer headed to the studio to record the green album. sent to radio stations and original weezer fanclub members only as a seasonal suprise. No more than 5000 made. mp3's of the tracks were also made available via weezer.com.

UK version of this album includes "i do". japanese version of this album includes "the christmas song" and "i do". There is also a UK vinyl edition, in green vinyl with no bonus track. USA CD strange variations: some US Green Album CDs have erroneous tracklistings, in which there are 2 track 5's listed, so that "O Girlfriend" ends up being "track 9". the cd's play normally, its just a weird typo that happened to approximately 5 percent of the cds. Also, some people have reported their disc looks different. The normal cd is lime green with white "weezer" lettering. But some people have reported their cd's have a more 'bright' green tint, with blue "weezer" lettering. This is a fairly rare pressing error, but the discs play fine.

CD - enhanced w/ "hash pipe", "starlight", the jimmy pop (bloodhound gang) remix of 'hash pipe",' and the "hash pipe" video (CD-ROM). the cassette version has "hash pipe" and "starlight". the vinyl 7" version contains "hash pipe" and "teenage victory song"(note: some jackets erroneously say "starlight" and some 7" labels have "teenage victory song" labels on both sides of the record. These are both errors. No matter what the record or the jacket says, all 7"s have "Hash Pipe" b/w "Teenage.." on the b-side more notes: the picture sleeve photo was shot during the outloud tour. it's a rivers cardboard cutout being pushed by mikey (notice the =w= light being set up in the back. actual record wax is clear green. international single (Europe, etc) (Geffen 497 568-2): contains same tracks as UK release, w/out the hash pipe video. Features the "pat" cover art, not the 'cardboard' photo

Hash Pipe (Jimi Pop Remix) notes: various promo cds were made for radio stations and retail around Europe and the world. Most use the "Pat" photo art, but there are exceptions. Pictured is an unusual european promo, that had a censored "Hash" in the song, for radio/retail. Cover: Slim case CD single cover. Pictured at left, the French Hash Pipe promo cd, from Polydor France. barely distributed to press and radio, well before "Island" did well in France and made weezer known. Amongst the very rarest of weezer promos, 3 documented copies known. This cd features "Hash Pipe" [album version] only.

Apparently the French record company decided the promotion wasn't necessary due to the Green Albums sucess in France, and the idea was scrapped. However, a small amount of the actual promo cd were in fact pressed. The live songs are from the Extended Midget Tour, the Always 'remix' is the same mix as the b-side found elsewhere.
