Jason started out joining weezer with a red Fender Stratocaster that he took to rewiring extensively, and replacing the neck of (see Rivers's section for more on that). As pictures (in Rivers's section) show, the guitar was given a psychedelic paint job by Jason, though most of this was eventually picked off by Rivers months later.
