You have prolly seen one of these threads before; however, I have yet to see one on the Weezer boards for the Red Album. Here are the rules for this Elimination match.

#1. Only 1 Vote per poster per day

#2. You take 1 X away from your least favorite song left with any lives

#3. You put 1 X onto your favorite song left with at least 1 life.

#4. You keep the format of the thread the same in all replies

Yeah...tidefan's post is pretty funny if you're just reading through the votes and there's been 3 or 4 songs left for like, weeks, then suddenly there's about 10 songs...xD

I'm not criticizing you tidefan, I've made the same exact mistake before, at least once, it's just funny.

For a moment there, RC Fan, I thought you subtracted from Greatest Man, since "Bad Girl" could be interpreted as the opposite of "Greatest Man" but alas, I was mistaken.

i don't like taato because it had so much potential and didn't fully take advantage of it.

Here is another song I was really anticipating. This is because Rivers spoke so highly about it in the notes of Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo. Of course he then referred to it as “Dreammaker”. It’s a song he felt so strongly about that he insisted it made the album over This Is The Way. I never had a problem with This Is The Way, comparing it to songs like Freak Me Out, which is easily inferior, but I’m glad Dreamin’ made the album instead. When the chorus first picks up at the beginning, it’s very refreshing. It’s like “Ah, that’s the Weezer sound I like. There it is.” Lyrically, it could quite possibly be written by a 5th grader, but it’s always nice to hear that “classic” Weezer sound. After all that’s why Pork and Beans initially stirred up such a buzz. The verse lyrics are mediocre as well. Up to this point the song is pretty good. I mean not spectacular, but a descent “filler” song. Now for the middle portion of the song. This would undeniably be one of the “experimental” parts of the album that they have been buzzing about for the past year. It sounds okay, but very forced, and maybe unnecessary. At the risk of sounding too feminine, they throw a nice guitar riff right in the middle of it. That actually is pretty cool! Then “the angels in the heavens are wondering...why am I so glad?” Why are they wondering that? It doesn’t even make any sense. Whatever, it’s acceptable I suppose. The slowed down version of the chorus at the end is nice; a good conclusion to a very deep song. The final part, “I don’t wanna get with the program”, again leaves me asking why. It sounds tight so we can’t complain too much. Overall it’s a good song, but I just don’t understand why Rivers spoke so highly of it. The middle part is very different, but it’s nothing that will make your jaw drop to the floor.

I hope this explains why I vote against it, relative to the other two that are left.

I voted against Dreamin because its my least favorite of these 3. If I had it my way Automatic and King would still be alive. People are hating on those songs because it's not Rivers.

I subtract from Dreamin' not to take away from Dreamin' but so I can add to The Angel and the One. I think The Angel and the One has genuine lyrics and the build from soft to a power ballad is so Shakespearian in that it starts slow, reaches it's height in the middle, and slowly returns to the same slow pace as it began.
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived is a bold risk that paid off big time, in my opinion. Lyrically, certainly not spectacular. But it's difficult to deny that it would be an amazing song to see live.
Dreamin' is just the only song of the 3 that doesn't have something that makes it stand out from other Weezer songs.
In summation, I appreciate the variety that The Angel and the One and The Greatest Man That Ever Lived bring. That's why they will get my vote before Dreamin'.

Move the o one space toward the song you prefer. DO NOT delete the hyphens, only backspace the o and replace it one hyphen over.

If the o touches one of the walls, that song is the Champion of the Album.

Keep doing the numer thing though cause this might totally fuck up xD...plus it would be easy to cheat if the numbers weren't there too.

Yeah I dunno, just felt like now that it's down to the final 2 I wanted to see it more of a tug-o-war/face-off kinda visual, but yeah, complications.
