I think this was a wonderful and new take on a live performance. I love this song and how it nicely melds a somewhat speech-driven verse to a singing chorus. Especially given the circumstances the serenade comes in, I think it is a brilliant take on the usual love song.
:)
I have no idea why Weezer saves their best songs for B-sides/Bonus tracks. I mean, I'd love to think it was a nod to the true fans, but COME ON! This is easily the best song on Red. The vibe reminds me of Devotion and Susanne...and the meter of the verse is genius. Great acoustic version, but I could do without the dancing chick.
that was amazing! ...and it may be because i smoked a fat dank bowl b4 i watched this video, but having that girl dance was so beautiful that it almost made me want to cry. those of you who didnt like that are overly critical douches. and how she puts her glasses back on and stops dancing at "im waiting until you love me"..perfect. i had thought of making a music video for this song somewhat similar to this, but not a live performance! this turned out way better than i imagined.
props.
where can i get some audio of these aol sessions?
after listening to the red album deluxe edition, i was astonished that miss sweeney didn't make the final 10 cut. also, king and it's easy would have showcased better vocal performances by Scott and Brian and better overall song quality than Cold Dark World and Thought I Knew. And now Weezer plays all these b-sides for these sessions? what gives? i wonder if they're thinking the same thing. Miss Sweeney is basically a Susanne sequel (you can use a more negative term if you prefer) and It's Easy sounds a whole lot like Jamie, but these are good tunes and I wish they would have made it on the album. It would have made for a much better package for the official 10-cut album.
the verses sound hilarious though because it's hard to tell if you are trying to sound like you're talking or singing. I'm really curious though what it would sound like if it was actual talking ala sweater songs talking bits
Amazing video and amazing acoustic version. The "musical" idea is a different, but nice twist. Also, the lady that plays Miss Sweeney is a beautiful and graceful dancer.
