Finally saw THE WEEZ!

What an amazing show! To start off with my name is jonas was just what a guy could hope for! They played Pink Triangle too! WOWZA! It was really cool to see a guy in a wheelchair crowd surf. I was right by him when Rivers came off the stage to give him his guitar pick too. I was really suprised by Rivers. He was really into it! All in all an amazing show and I can't wait to see them next year!

Great Show

By far the best weezer show I've ever seen. I can't believe they did Suzanne, especially with the a capella beginning

Uh-Maz-ING

Best night of my life, no battle. I was 2 arms lengths away from Rivers for most of the concert. . . ahhh. My adrenaline is still pumping. I can hardly believe it happened. I've been waiting for this for 14 years of my life, and now, it just seems surreal. Thank you for an awesome night, and THANK YOU FOR SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!

Thank you so much Weezer!!!

First off, I want to thank Rivers, Brian, Pat, and Scott for giving me and so many others the chance to be part of Weezer for the Hootenany. You made a lot of people's dreams come true tonight by letting us have the opportunity to be up on stage with you there. I've dreamed of doing that (and never thinking it would ever be possible) since I was 14 and IT HAPPENED!!! Brian was way cool in helping us get ready for the show and practicing with us. Brian's a really cool dude. I also saw Karl going up the stage. I wish I had said 'hi'or something, but I was nervous out of my mind so I didn't. Rivers walked literally 1" away from me. and then Pat and Scott were close by. It was all a very surreal and AMAZING experience. It's one I'll never forget. I've gotta say this was by far the best concert I've ever been to. I went to the Enlightenment Tour in 2002 (which was amazing) and I didn't think it could get better than that, but Weezer has done it tonight. Thank you again Weezer for a great show and for letting us be a part of the band tonight. Keep making incredible music and being so awesome to your fans. Peace!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!

I've been to my fair share of concerts! And let me just say that I can only think of 1 single concert that I've ever been to before tonight that compares at ALL! Weezer! You guys ROCK MY WORLD!!!!!! I was getting scared there at the end, thinking maybe you wouldn't play the final song I was wishing for........."WHAT'S WITH THESE HOMIES DISSIN' MY GIRL!?" I FLIIIIIIPPPED OUT! I will FOR SURE buy tickets to every single Utah concert you ever play again!! Thank you for an amazing night!!!

answers to setlist...

Someone above asked about a couple songs they weren't sure about. "Dreamin'" is correct, "King" is the other one you had marked. And the other one you asked about was a Nirvana cover song called "Silver". The show was dope! I still can't get over it. I'm a huge fan of the participation of all the guys in the band. They all seriously sound top notch. Amazing!!!

Silver

Glad to know the name of that song. I liked it a lot. Especially covered by Weezer!! XD

IT ROCKED!

It was TOTALLY awesome and I was in like the third row on the floor over on the left by Scott and where Rivers spent a lot of time too, and it was freaking amazing. Weezer is excellent live. There are some crummy videos of them online where they sound bad live, but they seriously were excellent tonight. I just got back, and am still caked in sweat with sore knees and a hoarse voice from jumping up and down and singing along to all of the songs. There were a few instances in Greatest Man that had out-of-tune vocals in the harmony, but that's probably a very hard song to perform and they eventually corrected the problem while singing. Also, Brian was not very engaged. Maybe it's just where I was (he was on the opposite side of the stage from where I was), but it seemed like all he did was sit there and hang out and play occasionally. He didn't even really take lead on any songs. I like Rivers singing the songs that Rivers wrote, but Brian just seemed bored and I felt kinda bad for him. We caught some Karl action, with him playing the Moog on King and setting up the Weezer record player for "Heart Songs". Also, I'm super super SUPER jealous of the hootenanny people. I seriously was contemplating strangling one of you guys and taking your place while we were hanging out outside the doors. I wanted SO BAD to be in the hootenanny but I didn't realize you had to win a radio contest. I don't listen to the radio, so I lost my chance. However, that was the BEST version of Beverly Hills that I have ever heard. Super props to the saxophone man and the trumpet man, you guys played excellent solos! Rivers said that they're coming NEXT YEAR. Apparently they're heading back to the studio in November, so maybe they'll be on tour again this time next year! Full set list of all 22 songs they performed is as follows: 1. My Name Is Jonas 2. Pink Triangle 3. Perfect Situation 4. Say It Ain't So 5. Suzanne 6. Keep Fishin' 7. King 8. Undone (The Sweater Song) 9. Pork And Beans 10. Dreamin' 11. Dope Nose 12. Troublemaker 13. Automatic 14. Hash Pipe 15. El Scorcho 16. Morning Glory (Cover - Originally By Oasis) 17. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations On A Shaker Hymn) 18. Island In The Sun (Hootenanny Style) 19. Beverly Hills (Hootenanny Style) 20. Heart Songs (Vinyl LP Played On Record Player) 21. Silver (Cover - Originally By Nirvana) 22. Buddy Holly

Muchas gracias, Jonas!

"Loved the show" is an understatement. It rocked my socks off. http://robtmichael.blogspot.com/2008/10/weezer-in-salt-lake-city.html

Torniamo all'antico e sarà un progresso

I've seen Weezer countless times dating back to July of 2000 (anyone else at that dv8 show?). This show was completely different than any time I previously saw them. I won't say it was better - because it was different - but it was definitely a great experience. I was a little tentative hearing about others singing several "rivers" songs, but they pulled it off. It was a very fun atmosphere with a lot of energy. Most new songs sounded great live - but the older and rare stuff (pink triangle, el scorcho, suzanne) definitely got the biggest draw of the crowd. It seemed that during Automatic and Morning Glory people decided that was the best time for drinks - restroom breaks - etc. I would replace automatic with "thought i knew"...though scott's sound effects were hilarious. I hope they get this hootenanny thing out of their system, because that was very boring...i'm sure it was cool to those on stage, but what a waste of time - I'd much rather hear some rockin tunes. All in all, a great show -

Great show

Best concert I've been to in a long time. The boys were more energetic than the last time they came to town and put on a really good show. Kudos.

Brian performed awesome!

In response to poojalooba_cow above. Brian did take lead on several songs in the show. His lead on suzanne was top notch and El Scorcho was also great. It was hard though sometimes to even tell it was the other guys singing. They have similar voices. I still can't believe how cool that show was.

Thank yuo

Weezer never disappoints, and last night was well worth the money. Rivers looked the most comfortable on stage that he has ever looked. Did you notice he wore out his knees in his red jumpsuit from sliding around stage? Good thing he was wearing knee pads! All around, it was an incredible show and definitely in my top 10 of all time shows. Side note: Did I completely miss Tokyo Police Club? Or did they not show up, because the band that played before AVA was not them (I can't even remember their name now...)

Thank you
