How come Japan always gets everything first, it's totally ridiculous. Weezer's an American band, and it only makes sense that we get the album first.
No offense to Japan, it's an awesome country, the beef is with the record label.

im sure everyone will have read the interview with scott, in which he says "Weezer will be back in the studio at the end of this year so I need to get some songs together!" Awesome. looks like we went from thinking mb was the end to two more albums

I've heard more than half of the album's "official" tracklisting and there aren't any damn solos! WTF???

the drumbeat is from "cold dark world," and it's the worst weezer album song ever. no offense to scott, whom can actually sing, but that song is stupid.

Worse than "My Best Friend"? Worse than "The Other Way"? The song is certainly better than the worst songs of Make Believe and some of the more redundant songs on Green.

At least "My Best Friend" sounds like Weezer. It sounds like Weezer TRYING to write a song for a Shrek soundtrack, but that's much better than Weezer TRYING to sound like some nu-rock Three Days Grace/Cold/rap bullshit.
And "The Other Way" is one of the best Weezer songs post-Pinkerton. It's very close to being a 'great' Weezer tune.

The object of a band is not to sound like their previous music. Weezer is great at creating a new sound with every record they put out, and they should be commended for it. Both of those songs I mentioned off of Make Believe, however, are the two worst songs the band has written. I don't think you really understand the dynamic of Weezer, you just want everything to sound like their first two albums.

um.... no, there aren't any solos.
And, no, I don't want Weezer to make a record that sounds like The Blue Album every time they go into the studio.
I really like SOME of the sounds coming from TRA -- "Troublemaker" has a semi Homie/"American Girls" vibe, which is different than any Weezer material, and it's good. "Heart Songs" has a terrible R&B/top-40 arrangement that ruins an otherwise brilliant/beautiful tune (I love the lyrics and the message, but the arrangement kills it. bad.)

I personally would not want every weezer album to sound exactly the same, though I certainly have my favorites. --It's because of the differences in their albums that we can gratefully acknowledge that we all have differences of opinion regarding which songs are the best.
Everything I've heard from the upcoming album sounds great so far, though my initial response on a couple of the songs was, "What the...?". But that makes it exciting!

yea it leaked....and its ok.....of course its better than make believe (a monkey throwing its own feces at a tape recorder would be better than that record) but in regards to the leak... its nothing great

ive heard some songs...none have impressed me at all...i give them credit for trying to do something different with "greatest man", but it just doesnt grab me..the rapping in the beginning is horrible..and no one should have lead vocals other than rivers..his voice is the signature for the "weezer" sound..if the other members want to take lead vocals then they should do it on a project that does not have the WEEZER name on it...you dont see john frusciante singing lead on chili peppers records right? thats because he has his solo albums to do that on! the song brian sings on is alright..but rivers shouldve sung...where can i find the whole album???

Know how to wait for the official release date. its like waiting for chirstmas. and if you pirate a song you're hurting the band that you apparently like by stealing from them. DUH
and seriously, its ok to not like weezer songs, but again I'll make a chirstmas analogy, you don't turn to your mom and say "thanks for the CRAPPY SOCKS AND MATCHING SCARF MOM! way to go!!!" right to her face. show a little class.
I liked Make Believe. Its in high rotation just like the rest of the albums and b-sides.
