2010/07/15 Mashantucket, CT: Foxwoods Casino
...today we zipped up the horrifically traffic clogged I-95 enroute to Mashantucket, CT, and the Foxwoods Casino for a rock n roll event starring Weezer, with Rival Schools opening again. The Foxwoods is a large formal theater that looked a bit unsuited to getting crazy with the rock and the roll, but Rivers and the gang managed to pull a very wicked vibe out of thin air. The tough looking dark suited security folks did not seem amused at all by the antics that involved multiple crowd runs, office furnature destruction and general mayhem, but the power of the fans proved strong enough to keep the vibes happy and cool. A fun show in a place that probably wasnt used to so much fun.

3rd time was a charm
After seeing them in 2001 and 2002, this was my 3rd show. I loved the energy and how all albums were represented, especially the love showed to Blue album, this old fogey (33) appreciated it. Before the show I played blackjack with Pat.
Totally worth the wait!
I too had tix for Boston in December and was heartbroken that I couldn't see them then, but it was totally worth the wait. This was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and I loved every minute of it!!!
First Timer
I can't believe I waited so long to go to a Weezer concert! I had so much fun singing along to all the songs. And the best part was that my 8 year old son sang right along with me! It was quite the bonding experience. He and I are forever Weezer fans! Love you guys!
Unreal
I came into the show with rather low expectations due to the entirely seated theater-type venue. I wouldn't miss it for the world however - for one, I'm a regular at MGM and was able to score a comped room for the night, and second, I'm an absolute weezer fanatic. After experiencing that show, I wish every weezer concert was in a seated venue like this! Rivers went above and beyond to make sure he gave the fans what they paid for and then some. I've never seen Rivers so animated! He literally bounced around the entire venue interacting with the crowd. He's usually quite introverted on stage. Also, I'm not sure what their setlist looks like for the other shows on this tour, but this setlist was as close to perfect as you could ask for. Of course we all have those few non-radio songs that get us every time, but for a live show, you couldn't ask for more. My only regret was not grabbing front row tickets - but who knew?

Worth the 4 hour drive
this was my 8th time seeing weezer and they still put on an awesome show. You guys are insane! scott you are amazing! i picked up the tickets at 5pm and at 8 i couldn't find the tickets.... i lost them or had them knabbed somewhere in the casino... i managed to get to the desk and had them reprinted and sure enough people were already in my seats. so we let them have the seats and we sat a couple rows back... cause well nose bleed is nose bleed. I wish i could've gotten close though... see you gus in VT!
GREAT SHOW!
I've been following Weezer forever, including on the old RWA mailing list. First time I saw them was on the Pinkerton Tour in Providence, I saw three of River's solo shows in Boston in '98 (still have the ticket stubs), and the summer 2000 shows. Last night was the most energized I've ever seen the band this past decade and it was glorious. Thank you for pulling me on stage to help out on "Jonas", it was an honor, the pictures will allow me to relive the moment! See you in Vermont!!!
